Maris Männiste is media and communication 3rd year doctoral student and information systems assistant at Institute of Social Studies, at University of Tartu. Her research interest include people’s perceptions of privacy; datafication practices; peoples’ attitudes and everyday practices related to personal informatics systems (e.g. self-tracking, self-monitoring but also monitoring children). Current research focuses on data practices used by Estonian data experts who are responsible for the analysis and management of data flows related to mobile groups in Estonia, also their understandings of social datafication, algorithmic selection, as well as their attitudes and experiences with data related to mobile groups.
